KPI Cockpit - Payroll
Payslips, net and gross pay and employer cost at a glance.
A ready-made payroll board for the KPI Cockpit. It shows the payslips and batches still to process, net pay, gross pay and employer cost over time and by department, how the pay is composed and which work entries lie behind it. A click on a figure opens the records behind it. The board needs Odoo Enterprise with the Payroll app and installs itself only where Payroll is installed.
The help for this module is findable — for people and for AI
A help page ships with the module, in German and English. Full-text search finds it from inside Odoo.

AI asks
eq.helper.doc.get_capability_card(
"eq_kpi_cockpit_hr_payroll") The module card lists the shipped boards, their source models and how each figure is defined, so an assistant knows what a figure means before it answers.

Features

Net pay, gross pay and employer cost
The board adds up the net pay, the gross pay and the total employer cost stored on validated and paid payslips. The period follows the end date of the payslip. The board does not compute payroll itself; it shows what Payroll has booked.
- Payslips in the period, net pay, gross pay and employer cost as figures, compared with the previous period
- Net pay per month (always the last twelve months) and net pay by department (the ten largest) as charts
- A department ranking with payslips, gross pay, net pay, employer cost and net pay per payslip
What is still to do
Two figures count the draft payslips still to confirm and the payslip batches that are not done yet. They show the state right now and ignore the period. Two worklists open the payslips to confirm, oldest period first, and the payslip batches, latest first.
- Payslips by status for the period as a doughnut chart
- Status badges in both worklists
- A click on a figure opens the payslips or batches behind it
Salary composition and worked time
The salary composition groups the payslip lines of the period by salary rule category. Next to it, the hours of the work entries in the period are shown by work entry type; cancelled entries are left out.
- Salary composition: the ten largest salary rule categories
- Work entry hours by type: the eight largest types
- All figures follow each user's own access rights
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Odoo editions are supported?
Odoo Enterprise only, version 19.0 — self-hosted or on Odoo.sh. The module needs the Enterprise app Payroll (hr_payroll). On Odoo Community it cannot be installed and changes nothing; the KPI Cockpit and all its other bridges keep running on Community. Odoo Online, the hosted SaaS edition, does not accept apps from the store, so no third-party module can run there.
Which boards are included?
One board with 14 widgets: Payroll. In a German interface it is called „Lohnabrechnung“.
What are the dependencies?
Requires the cockpit bridge for Employees (eq_kpi_cockpit_hr, which brings the cockpit core) and the Enterprise app Payroll (hr_payroll). This module installs itself as soon as both are present. It needs no Python package.
Who sees the board?
Users of the KPI Cockpit who belong to the group "Payroll / Officer: Manage all contracts" (hr_payroll.group_hr_payroll_user) or a group above it. The figures follow each user's own access rights and record rules.
Where do the amounts come from?
From the payslips. Net pay, gross pay and employer cost are the values stored on validated and paid payslips; the board never recalculates them. A payslip belongs to the period of its end date. Draft and cancelled payslips do not count towards the amounts.
Can I change the board?
Yes, with the group „KPI Cockpit / Administrator“ under KPI Cockpit → Configuration. The board is loaded once, so your changes are kept when the module is updated.
What is the technical name?
eq_kpi_cockpit_hr_payroll.
Will it work after an Odoo update within the same major version?
Yes, within 19.0.x. Major version upgrades are delivered as a new module version.
