Odoo's contact form knows a name and an address. German-speaking business needs more: a salutation and a first name so a letter can address a person, extra name lines for legal-form suffixes and departments, a district for deliveries in larger cities, and the number under which you are filed at the customer. Contact Optimizations adds those fields — and is the main module of the Contacts bundle, which extends them into automatic numbering and accounting.

One help page in German and English, shipped inside the module. With Help Docs installed you search them in full text — and an AI assistant reads the same content through a machine-readable module card.

Features
Salutation, first name, last name — as separate fields
This is what makes a mail merge produce „Dear Ms Meier“ instead of a company name. The displayed name is composed automatically, so sorting and searching by surname still work.
Two extra name lines and a district
Legal-form suffixes, departments or a differing recipient go on their own lines and can be printed. The district decides, on a large industrial site, whether a consignment reaches the right building.
Second phone number and second email address
Switchboard and direct line, or business and private address, stay side by side instead of one overwriting the other the next time someone updates the record.
The number you are filed under, on both sides
Separate fields hold your own supplier number at the customer and your customer number at the supplier. A large customer who demands their vendor number on every invoice is served from the contact record.
How intense the relationship has been
The contact shows how many messages were sent and received. Before a call back, that is a faster read on the relationship than scrolling the whole history.
Birthday and its own settings area
A date field usable for filters and customer care, and a settings area for contacts gathered in one place, reachable through a readable backend address.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to contacts that already exist?
They stay exactly as they are; the new fields are simply empty. Existing names are not split up automatically — you fill in first name and salutation where it matters, at your own pace.
Do I need the other modules of the Contacts bundle?
No. This module works on its own. Partner Numbers and Account Numbers build on it when you also want automatic customer numbers and the matching accounts.
Which Odoo editions are supported?
The module runs on Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise, version 19.0 — self-hosted or on Odoo.sh. Odoo Online, the hosted SaaS edition, does not accept apps from the store, so no third-party module can run there.
Which other modules does it require?
It requires web, account, base, base_setup, base_vat, contacts, mail, stock. Odoo resolves and installs these dependencies itself when you install the module.
Under which license is the module published?
The module is published under the LGPL-3 open-source license.
Will it keep working after an Odoo update?
Yes, within 19.0.x. A move to the next major Odoo version is delivered as a new module version.
